Welcome to my website! I have been teaching oboe, English Horn and flute in the Diablo and Tri-Valley areas for more than 25 years, to students 8 years and older. I teach reed-making classes and also encourage student recitals. My teaching method is individualized to suit the needs and skill level of each student. My rates are competitive, and I offer discounts for new referrals! I instruct year-round lessons in Walnut Creek and Dublin locations and also give oboe demonstrations at local schools.

I studied at the Berklee Music College, where I received a Professional Music Certificate and Specialist Certificates in Music Theory and Harmony. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Oboe Performance at Saint Mary’s College where I studied with oboist Tom Nugent (University of Pacific Conservatory of Music and SF Conservatory). I also studied with Russell DeLuna (English Hornist and oboist of the San Francisco Symphony and SF Music Conservatory), Eleanore Dusté (SF Ballet) and Lenore Gillard (Oakland Symphony). Additionally, I took flute lessons with Amy Likar (Oakland Symphony) and Tambre Thompson.

I earned a Masters Degree (MA) from San Jose State University.
